In 1994 as part of a growth strategy in the Latin American region, EDS started operations in Argentina and initially concentrated its information technology (IT) services in the banking and automotive industries.
Today, EDS offers end-to-end capabilities through a full spectrum of services from high-value consulting to business process implementation and maintenance. To serve our clients from the main industries, EDS Argentina has approximately 2,300 employees and operates in Buenos Aires, Rosario and Cordoba.
In May 2007, we established a global service center (GSC). The GSC is designed to support EDS' full range of industry-focused applications, business processing and infrastructure from a single location. At full capacity, a GSC can accommodate several thousand employees. GSCs are the foundation of EDS' Best Shore® strategy to provide high-quality, cost-competitive services from onshore, near-shore and offshore locations.
Undoubtedly, our integrated approach in Latin America provides the support and collaboration required for many regional businesses in the area. EDS has subsidiaries in Mexico, Venezuela, Chile, Colombia and Brazil to better serve our clients.
