EDS, now HP, established a presence in Ireland in 1990 with the opening of the Ireland Solution Centre (IrSC) in Dublin, the first one to be created outside of the United States. This is part of a global network of development centers and provides cost-effective, quality systems engineering services for HP operational units throughout Europe. By concentrating a broad range of hardware and software expertise in one location, the solution center minimizes duplication of specialized skills and enhances delivery effectiveness.
Operating as an extension of an HP account, the IrSC supports the account team to meet current and prospective client requirements through offering a variety of services and skills such as:
- Application design, delivery and implementation
- Project management
- Migration support
- Consultancy systems
- Integration hosting
- Billing services
- Data management services
HP also addresses the business requirements of clients in Ireland. While the initial focus has been on systems integration and consulting engagements, the growth in outsourced business process and IT services has presented exciting new opportunities for our global expertise.
In 2001, HP acquired Memorex Telex Ltd. and together we now offer complementary solutions and services to Irish clients.
HP employs approximately 400 staff in Ireland, mostly based in Dublin.
