EDS, now HP, was established in Italy in 1994. With its offices across all Italy, HP has today approximately 3,300 employees. Thanks to its strong positioning in the public administration sectors, banking, insurance, energy, and telecommunications, the HP Italia Group, which reported more than 400 million euro revenues in 2004, is now one of the major players in Italy's IT market.

Its portfolio is focused on IT outsourcing and transformation services and LINK MISSING (BPO). Recently HP has been chosen for the testing of the electronic vote in Italy and has recorded great success implementing those activities.

Since the beginning, HP has positioned itself as a qualified partner in the privatization and streamlining processes characterizing the Italian market since 1994, when it first signed an important 10-year contract with Gruppo INA, today Gruppo Generali.

Social Accountability & Administration Policies

To assure customers the protection of workers' rights and the ethical delivery of services, HP Italia added SA8000 social accountability requirements to its Quality Management System. Social Accountability was created in accordance with the HP Code of Business Conduct. Also see the Social Administration Policy.

In 1997, renewed at the beginning of 2005, HP won the Ministry of Education tender competition for the implementation and management of the central and peripheral technological infrastructure, as well as the ministry's administrative services.

In the spring of 1998, renewed in 2004, HP Italia signed a 10-year outsourcing contract with Banca di Roma. In 1999, renewed in 2004, the multiyear agreement with Eni went into effect. Under this agreement HP manages the technological infrastructure of one of the world's most important energy groups.

In February 1999, actually still on going, HP won the AIPA public tender for cross-operative service provision (electronic business and business process management) to all central public administrations. Such solutions may also be provided to all local public administrations.

HP has a strong presence in South of Italy with two centers. One solution center is located in Naples. The other competence center is located in Bari. Both serve our Italian and international clients.
