EDS, an HP Company, Wins $61 Million Infrastructure Deal with Australian Federal Government
SYDNEY, Australia – EDS, an HP company, today announced it has signed a $61 million (AU$96 million) agreement to manage the technology infrastructure for the Australia Department of Agriculture, Fishery and Forestry, providing expanded technology services across the department’s key locations and increased economic value to the Commonwealth.

- EDS, now HP, was recognized with a 2007 InfoWorld 100 Award for its work with the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS). The EDS-developed Phytosanitary Certificate Issuance and Tracking (PCIT) system was named one of the best IT projects of the year.
- The USDA APHIS has issued more than 3 million federal certificates since 2001, enabling the export of $50 billion in U.S. agricultural commodities.
- The U.S. Department of Agriculture's Farm Service Agency awarded HP a 60-month contract, as a subcontractor to TSeva Group, LLC, to maintain and develop applications in support of the Farm Loan Program Information Delivery System.
- The U.S. Department of Agriculture's Farm Service Agency (FSA) awarded HP seven bridge contracts under the Information Technology Support Services-2 contract. We will provide technical support services including software development and maintenance, network management, systems security, database development and operations to support the FSA.

Suparno Banerjee is the leader of HP’s Global Government Industry group. Banerjee joined EDS, now HP, in 2003 with more than 20 years' experience managing business consulting and information technology services in both the government and commercial sectors. He has worked with multiple governments at the national and state level, as well as with international financial agencies. Prior to joining EDS, Banerjee was a director with the Federal Practice of Deloitte Consulting.
