Airlines
Creating an Agile, High-Performance Enterprise thru Modernization
Fighting Headwinds
The Challenge
Airlines are faced with a significant array of challenges – many driven by historically high fuel prices. Profitability is suffering, increasing pressure to reduce costs. Industry consolidation is continuing, driving the need to effectively merge airline operations. You are faced with the dilemma of reducing capacity while at the same time increasing revenue.
In order to respond to these challenges, airlines must improve their ability to innovate and adapt. You must be able to integrate information from multiple sources in order to enhance your ability to make decisions. You must be able to change your business model as necessary to respond to changes in the business environment. And your airline must increase efficiencies while at the same time strengthening customer relations.
To successfully address these challenges, you need information systems that are agile and cost effective. Unfortunately, many airlines are operating aging information technology (IT) systems that not only fail to provide the flexibility airlines need, but also contribute to system downtime, passenger delays and unnecessary expenditures.
