Austrian Government Outsourced Technology Management
The enactment of Austria's Administrative Reform Act meant its Federal Ministry of Economy, Family and Youth needed to quickly upgrade its technology environment to speed the delivery of services. Outsourcing to EDS, now HP, was the ideal solution. We refreshed the technology infrastructure throughout the department and established a central user help desk that serves as a single point of contact for IT issues. We also helped create a Ministry Web site featuring 50,000 pages of content that can be easily updated through a powerful self-service content-management system. Today HP manages all the Ministry's desktops, servers, networks and its electronic-messaging system. The first full-outsourcing agreement by the Austrian government, this partnership is already increasing citizen access to services, while allowing workers to perform their jobs more efficiently.
