Austria's Federal Ministry of Economy, Family and Youth operates a public Web portal comprising 15,000 pages, which need regular updating. Until recently, the Ministry used an inefficient legacy tool for site management. HP migrated the legacy system to Microsoft Content Management Server® 2002. EDS, now HP, also updated the Ministry's e-mail system by installing Microsoft's Exchange 2000® and Internet Security and Acceleration Server 2000®. Today, more than 300 editors maintain the portal's contents autonomously; users update pages in seconds, and only with secure, accurate and reliable information. The Ministry achieved a return on investment within 12 months. In recognition of our innovative approach, and helping the Ministry improve its service to citizens, Microsoft bestowed its Customer Award on HP.
