The International Air Transport Association's (IATA's) aging Cargo Account Settlement System (CASS), running on outdated technologies and disparate platforms in multiple countries, was becoming increasingly difficult to manage and use.

EDS created a common, standardized technical environment on which CASS could run. The team then developed a Web-based CASS operation, called CASSLink. Finally, EDS migrated the solution to a central hosting facility in Germany.

Today, CASSLink processes more than 1 million transactions monthly. Deploying enhancements to the system and managing it is much easier, and support costs fell about one half. IATA is on a path to faster growth, too, as it plans to expand to more than 22 new countries within a year.
