As the central policing agency for New Zealand, NZ Police operates more than 400 community-based police stations with 10,000-plus staff responding to more than 600,000 emergency calls each year.
The agency works closely with partner agencies such as Land Transport New Zealand and the Ministry of Justice to ensure public safety from the roadways to homes and communities nationwide.
In order to take advantage of emerging technologies, the government agencies needed to migrate their IT systems off a shared legacy system onto their in-house systems. Having managed the legacy system since its inception, longtime IT partner EDS, now HP, stepped up to the challenge.
