Germany's TUI has become Europe's sixth largest air carrier through aggressive acquisitions activity. With six major airline brands now in its portfolio, it serves approximately 19 million passengers annually. To better coordinate flight plans across its entire operation, the company turned to HP.
We implemented the axsFlightPlanning solution, which coordinates and optimizes airline routes based on aircraft type, navigation, weather and other variables. Fully integrated with the company's core systems, including departure control and crew management, axsFlightplanning enables staff at TUI's Group Operations Centre to manage flight plans in real time. Since its implementation, the company has been able to reduce its annual fuel consumption by 2 percent without affecting service.
