Westpac wanted to enhance customer service, improve efficiencies and reduce costs associated with its mortgage processing operations. However, the bank's processes were paper-based and not backed by the best available technologies.
After winning a competitive bid, EDS assumed responsibility for the bank's mortgage processing operations. It upgraded the technical environment, changed fixed costs to variable ones and built a partnership based on mutually aligned interests.
As a result of outsourcing, Westpac cut costs for mortgage processing and reduced capital expenditures – all while dramatically increasing efficiencies. Customer expectations are met or exceeded 90 percent of the time. And EDS continues to increase service-level delivery and performance.
