Except in rare instances, few services firms or outsourcers have such a comprehensive portfolio of solutions that they can address all customer needs without some level of partner assistance. It's up to services firms, therefore, to ensure their partnering efforts are robust and well organized, and that they serve to compliment and enhance their own capabilities.

Additionally, a firm must share a common philosophy with their partners about how their technologies and services mesh together, and how they can jointly attract and fulfill customer contracts on a long-term basis.
