The Workplace of the Future

Content starts here

A new generation of edge devices is changing the nature of the communications industry. To remain competitive, a communications service provider (CSP) has to deliver a new set of services on converged computing, communications and entertainment-edge devices. As a result, the CSP must redefine its own workplace services and strike a balance between delivering quality workplace services fast and reducing its operating costs. These dynamics require a broader set of competencies between a CSP and its partners in order to share in market success. To develop these competencies, a CSP needs to transform both its information technology (IT) and product management organizations.

The authors describe the market forces that drive the push for a more capable workplace and how CSPs can create a cost-efficient workplace environment by applying automation, mobility and personalization. They also discuss the challenges and opportunities presented by the growth of edge devices and the steps CSPs are taking to capitalize on this trend to improve the end-user experience.
