A recent report by analyst firm IDC1 gives high marks to HP for its work in building out a strong approach to Service Oriented Architecture (SOA). The analysis says HP has “succeeded in developing a comprehensive set of service offerings that combines its technology prowess along with its process and industry capabilities.”

The IDC Insight profiles HP by describing the company's SOA capabilities with respect to its service offerings around SOA. IDC examines HP's overall SOA strategy and marketing messages, new developments and investments, SOA-specific services portfolio, key methods and tools used in SOA engagements, competitive differentiators, and strengths and challenges. The findings focus on HP's cohesive SOA approach that builds on the firm's core competence, its Agile Application Architecture, and relationships with the Agility Alliance partners.
