The state of South Carolina awarded EDS, now HP, a contract in 2007 to deliver a new full-function child support system. The contract aims to re-examine current business processes and leverage new technology to build a system that would promote efficiency for the state and the case worker as well as improved customer service and collection abilities.
This project is a significant development in the evolution of child support enforcement systems. Once completed, it will be the most current technology system available and provide the only focused child support application framework on the market. This framework is being designed with principles that will allow the entire system, or component modules, to be transferred and implemented within an existing system environment without a "rip and replace" strategy.
