Herndon, VA – EDS, an HP company, today announced it has appointed Douglas “Doug” Davis vice president of EDS' U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) business. In this position, Davis will be responsible for managing EDS' U.S. Public Sector business with the U.S. Navy, U.S. Marine Corps, U.S. Air Force, U.S. Army, Office of Secretary of Defense, Personnel & Readiness-Defense Manpower Data Center, Defense Finance and Accounting Service, Defense Information Systems Agency and other defense agencies.
Most recently, Davis has served as vice president and account executive for EDS' U.S. Navy and Marine Corps business including the Navy Marine Corps Intranet (NMCI) program. NMCI is the world's largest government information technology (IT) contract and an enterprise-wide managed service. NMCI provides secure IT access to more than 700,000 users in the U.S. Navy and U.S. Marine Corps at more than 1,000 networked locations across the United States and sites in Cuba, Japan and Puerto Rico. Under Davis' leadership of the NMCI program, he has orchestrated EDS' transition from network deployment to operational excellence, bringing new technologies and capabilities to NMCI end-users while improving the performance and security of the enterprise.
Davis brings extensive experience directing operations in IT-managed services in a global context and his EDS assignments have taken him around the world. During his 29 year EDS career he led the planning, design, delivery and sustainment of IT service operations supporting EDS' largest commercial client, General Motors (GM), and its global partners. He also had been responsible for end-to-end IT service delivery to all defense and non-defense government and commercial clients in its Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region.
“Doug brings extensive commercial and government IT service delivery and strategic business experience to his new position,” said Dennis Stolkey, senior vice president, U.S. Public Sector, EDS. “He understands the business needs of U.S. Department of Defense agencies and has used this knowledge to deliver best practices and IT innovation to help them achieve their missions and goals.”
