HERNDON, VIRGINIA – HP today announced it has been selected by the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) to provide information technology (IT) solutions for all federal government agencies under the GSA Alliant contract.

The Alliant government-wide acquisition contract has a five-year base period followed by a five-year option period and serves as a centralized source to buy integrated IT products and services.

EDS is one of 59 companies that may compete for task orders under the $50 billion Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity contract.

Under the Alliant contract, EDS will offer to federal agencies an array of IT solutions for applications development, data center hosting, IT Infrastructure modernization and consolidation, cloud computing, cyber security, identity management, enterprise integration, and citizen-centric e-government.

“We expect Alliant to be an essential vehicle used by agencies across government to obtain the IT products and services they will need to most effectively accomplish their critical missions,” said Dennis Stolkey, senior vice president of U.S. Public Sector at EDS, an HP company. “As an Alliant vendor, EDS’s goal is to meet the federal government's IT business needs to improve service and increase efficiency by delivering cost-effective solutions, industry best practices, innovation and thought leadership.”

The Alliant contract is a medium through which any federal government agency can purchase IT infrastructure products and services, IT management services, IT applications, and ancillary services such as training and subject matter expertise.

Alliant replaces the GSA Millennia and Applications ‘N Support for Widely-diverse End user Requirements (ANSWER) contracts, which EDS has previously participated in.
