PALO ALTO, Calif., – EDS, an HP company, today announced that independent industry analyst firm Forrester Research has recognized the company as a leader in its report “Forrester Wav™: SAP Implementation Providers, Q3 2009.”1
EDS earned the highest score for its SAP alliance status, which is based on SAP’s Global Business Partner status in technology, services, hosting and business process outsourcing. EDS also is an SAP Partner in software and Run SAP Solution Operations and an Implementation partner. Additionally, client references “rated their satisfaction with HP-EDS 4.56 on a 5-point scale.”
According to the report, EDS’ “key value proposition is that it offers full end-to-end services around SAP from build to run, with leading expertise and capabilities around management and hosting of SAP applications on a worldwide scale.”
The Forrester report evaluated 18 enterprise resource planning services vendors on 60 criteria based on current product offering, strategy and overall market presence. “This year’s evaluation incorporated a broad range of services, moving beyond just implementation offerings to include application maintenance and support as well as hosting and operational capacity … This Forrester Wave also includes metrics around ongoing support and hosting related to SAP.”
The report also noted that HP “offers one of the largest hosting/support capabilities in the SAP space (from the legacy HP side) as well as leading operational and maintenance capabilities (from the legacy EDS side). Although the provider (HP-EDS) can do standalone implementations that it transitions to the client, its value proposition is most compelling to firms seeking ongoing support and operations from their implementation partner.”
“For many enterprises, SAP solutions are integral to almost every aspect of their operations, and they need a partner that can help them reduce time to value and increase return on investment,” said Bob Hershey, vice president and practice leader of the Global SAP Practice at EDS, an HP company. “HP’s strength comes from its deep and diverse services, hardware and software portfolios. Our enterprise application solutions for SAP are designed to reduce total cost of ownership and ensure the applications portfolio and infrastructure are aligned to business priorities, operational requirements and budget needs.”
Supporting more than 1.7 million users of SAP solutions, EDS is one of the world’s largest service providers supporting SAP solutions and is a certified SAP global hosting partner and an SAP services partner. EDS was the first company to be certified by SAP AG to provide solution implementation and solution operations for clients using the Run SAP methodology.
