- NMCI Virtualization Recognized with InfoWorld's Green 15 Award (17 Jun 2009)
- NMCI's virtualization initiative, recognized with a Green 15 Award, will save the Navy more than $1.6 million annually in energy costs or about $700 per virtualized server. This level of decreased power consumption means we essentially eliminate four tons of carbon emissions per server, per year. That is the equivalent of taking 2,800 cars off the road each year.
- Preparedness Keeps Navy and Marine Corps Connectivity Operational During Inauguration (17 Feb 2009)
- To ensure minimal disruption or loss of NMCI connectivity during the National Capital Region (NCR) for the 2009 Presidential Inauguration from Jan. 20-21, an EDS-led core team prepared and activated a special crisis management plan that would kick into action should an emergency response be required to prevent disruptions or outages.
- Marine Corps Marathon Gets a Boost from EDS/HP (10 Nov 2008)
- EDS once again provided technical support to the Marine Corps Marathon (MCM) and for the first time, sponsored the “Check Your Runner” stations with HP. EDS provided laptops and backup batteries, and full-time customer support for four days – three days of preparation as the network was installed and race day.

- Herndon, VA – EDS, an HP company, today announced it has appointed Douglas “Doug” Davis vice president of EDS' U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) business. In this position, Davis will be responsible for managing EDS' U.S. Public Sector business with the U.S. Navy, U.S. Marine Corps, U.S. Air Force, U.S. Army, Office of Secretary of Defense, Personnel & Readiness-Defense Manpower Data Center, Defense Finance and Accounting Service, Defense Information Systems Agency and other defense agencies.
- NMCI Customer Satisfaction Rating Achieves All-Time High (29 Jul 2008)
- According to those responding to the most recent survey of Navy Marine Corps Intranet (NMCI) users, overall customer satisfaction ratings reached an all-time high of 87.5 percent in the second quarter of 2008, an increase of 1.3 percent from last quarter.
- NMCI Customer Satisfaction Survey Trend Continues Upward Climb (06 Mar 2008)
- Customer satisfaction among Navy Marine Corps Intranet (NMCI) users surveyed in December 2007 has reached its highest level in the history of the program. With an overall satisfaction rate of 85.8 percent, up 2 percent from last quarter, the latest end-user satisfaction survey results continue the upward trend with an increase for the third consecutive quarter.
